Shock must be treated diligently and appropriately, while investigating the underlying cause as shock is not a diagnosis of its own. In this lecture, we’ll explore the pathophysiology of shock, the stages and types of shock, and current treatment modalities. There is an emphasis placed on the role the veterinary technician plays in the successful outcome of treating shock. We’ll talk about shock doses of fluids, medications used, and the importance of vital signs monitoring in the shock patient
