The aim of effective theatre practice and management is to provide a sterile and safe environment in which to undertake surgery with consideration to reducing the risks to the patient and staff.
This course will explore the key factors in managing an efficient theatre and aims to provide a deeper understanding of best practice standards. The course will cover topics from all aspects of theatre practice and management to help achieve guidelines set within the RCVS practice standards.
Participants will be able to share their knowledge base and protocols with a view to gaining an understanding of the areas of strength and weakness in the delivery and maintenance of their current practice protocols. This will lead to discussions on how improvements can be made to achieve best practice standards within the remits of their own practices.
The flexibility of this course will allow each student to address their own practice situation and following study they will be able to reflect on the current theatre setup and develop standard theatre operating procedures.
