Beth Skiles, RVT 

 

Beth Skiles is a Registered Veterinary Technician who grew up in Indiana and has worked with animals all of her life.  She has a BS in Animal Science from Purdue University (1988) and an AS in Veterinary Technology from Purdue University (2005).  She was one of the first 2 people to graduate from Purdue University’s Veterinary Technician Distance Learning Program. Throughout her career she have worked at 2 different zoos, a humane society, private practice (small animal), a specialty hospital (small animal) and is currently working at Indiana University School of Medicine with rodents in research. She loves volunteering with different organizations both within our profession and outside of the profession.

 

She is involved with the following organizations – She is the current Treasurer and Membership Chair of SLAVT; the President of AALAS Indiana branch, Immediate Past President and Membership chair of Indiana Veterinary Technician Association, on the membership committee of NAVTA as well as part of the NAVTA Wellness Task Force and on the board of directors of her church. She also goes to Purdue every year for a panel discussion of different career paths veterinary technician students may pursue. She loves being involved with all of these organizations giving back to the profession

 

When she is not working or volunteering she enjoys being outdoors, going to concerts, hiking, photographing nature, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
