Nutrition: Managing Disease in Companion Animals is an advanced 8-week course designed for practice team members who provide nutrient recommendations to clients on a daily basis and who wish a deeper understanding of nutrition as it relates to diseases common to companion animals. Nutritional management covers conditions including purine nutrient metabolism in Dalmations, obesity, diabetes, urolithiasis, dermatoses, renal failure, feline hepatic lipidosis, gastrointestinal disease, cancer, mobility and the function of the heart. The course format is on-demand to allow participants to enroll at any time to activate their 8 week course period. Course instructor is Kara Burns, MS, MEd, LVT, VTS-Nutrition, Dentistry (H), Internal Medicine (H). This course provides 20 RACE approved CE credits to both veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians as well as acceptance by The Academy of Veterinary Nutrition Technicians for CE requirements and The Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Clinical Practice (AVTCP) for CE requirements.
