First Veterinary Technician Certificate Course in Principle Techniques of Small Animal Anesthesia, Perioperative Analgesia & Critical Patient Care - Narkovet Consulting®, LLC. in partnership with Ethos Veterinary Health/VetBloom and in collaboration with Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine is launching this fall a unique certificate course for veterinary technicians in small animal anesthesia, analgesia, and critical patient care that has been endorsed by both the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia & Analgesia (ACVAA) and the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Anesthesia & Analgesia (AVTAA). The course program is the first of its kind being offered in North America and is directed towards licensed animal health technicians with focused interest in small animal anesthesia, analgesia, and perioperative care and the desire to pursue in the future a career as veterinary technician specialist (VTS) in anesthesia & analgesia. The 4-module course combines traditional methods of lecturing and laboratory/workshop teaching with the new technology of on-demand e-learning and training in a simulator lab setting. Furthermore, it offers the opportunity to obtain training in basic and advanced life support techniques leading to certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation from the American College of Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care. The AVTAA will designate a total of 90 continuing education (CE) credits upon successful completion of the program.
