Hospice for Pets: Providing Quality Care as Life's Journey Ends is a 6-week course focusing on the care of older patients with the goal of providing them with an exceptional quality of life as their life's journey comes to an end. Many veterinary practices are creating a business component within the practice that focuses on hospice and palliative care. This course addresses concerns that may rise, including legal issues. It provides insight regarding conversations with owners and steps to protect caregivers and veterinary team members from compassion fatigue. Hospice and palliative care protocols are covered, along with the quality of life assessment. Course provides 15 RACE hours of CE credit for licensed veterinary technicians and veterinarians as well as 15 CE credits for the Certified Veterinary Practice Manager program offered by VHMA.
