Members of the NAVTA Executive Board meet for the General Membership Meeting in conjunction with either North American Veterinary Conference, January, Orlando, Florida or Western Veterinary Conference, February, Las Vegas, Nevada. Also held during these times are Executive Board and Strategic Planning meetings.
The NAVTA reimbursement protocol allows for officers to be reimbursed the cost of their airfare and $500 for hotel expenses, $25/per day per diem incurred while attending the meeting. The usual stay for officers at the meeting is five days.
In addition to the meeting in Nevada./Florida, the Executive Board also gets together during the summer for a 3 day weekend of strategic planning. Hotel and airfare costs associated with this meeting are absorbed by the Association. There are also quarterly conference calls.
Responsibilities connected to each elected position must be performed weekly. Each office has its own unique duties, with some requiring a much greater time commitment than others. A complete listing of all duties is contained in the NAVTA constitution. Click to view the constitution in a PDF version.
The NAVTA Executive Board is made up of 7 elected officers. They are the President, President Elect, Past President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, and two Members at Large.
